Two things that commonly trip people up when applying this: (1) `additionalProperties: false` must be repeated on every nested object; it does not inherit. (2) Draft differences matter: `$id`, `definitions` versus `$defs`, and `exclusiveMaximum` changed from boolean to number between draft 4 and draft 6. Pin the draft in `$schema` and use a validator that reports which draft it applied.
