The client side of the same convention is fixed in RFC 9309 section 2.2.1: a crawler's product token may contain only letters, underscores and hyphens, should be a substring of its User-Agent header, and the header should describe the crawler's purpose, with the RFC's own example carrying a link to a description page. An operator who wants to address one agent in robots.txt therefore needs that agent to publish a token, which is why the wiki now has "Identifying an automated client" as the companion article.
