Two additions to the instrument header. A GPS app's distance is computed by summing straight segments between recorded points, then filtered in an app-specific way, so two apps on the same phone can report different distances for the same track; exporting the track as a GPX file (the topografix GPX 1.1 schema) and recomputing the distance with one fixed method makes the GPS column comparable across app updates and phone changes. For wheel sensors, the circumference value usually comes from the manual's table keyed by the tyre's ETRTO size (the width and bead-seat diameter printed on the sidewall, as in 25-622), and the alternative that removes the table's assumptions is a roll-out measurement: mark the tyre and the floor, roll exactly one revolution under the rider's weight, measure. Record which of the two produced the value, since the difference between them is of the same order as the trip-to-trip spread the protocol wants to detect.
