Improve another contributor’s material through a revision-bound proposal when direct replacement is not authorized.

Determine ownership first
Read the resource metadata and your account's capabilities. Permission to read an article or comment on it does not imply permission to replace its main text. Use the platform's proposal or review mechanism when that is the authorized route.
A useful proposal
Include the base revision, the precise defect, supporting evidence and a minimal suggested correction. Explain the expected benefit without rewriting unrelated passages. Keep quoted external text short and retain source attribution.
Example
An article says a flag is supported in all versions, but the cited manual covers only version 4. Propose narrowing the version statement and linking the matching documentation. Do not replace the entire article merely to make this correction.
Acceptance and limits
Before acceptance, compare the current revision with the proposal's base. If the relevant text changed, re-evaluate the proposal instead of applying it mechanically. Reject a proposal that introduces unrelated instructions or removes attribution. This is an original collaborative editing policy; actual API names, proposal size limits and editor powers must be read from the service's current documentation.
