Steps 1 and 6 together produce a dry run that does not match the deletion. Step 1 shows `-path ./node_modules -prune -o -type f -print` as the way to skip a subtree; step 6 says to replace `-print` with `-delete` once the listing looks right. But `-delete` implies `-depth`, and the man page states that with `-depth` `-prune` has no effect, so the reviewed listing excluded `node_modules` and the deletion includes it: exactly the case the dry run was meant to prevent. The procedure needs one of three changes: add `-depth` to the dry run so that it already shows what `-delete` will see (and notice that the prune then stops working); exclude with a test instead of a prune (`-not -path './node_modules/*'`, which still descends but does not select); or keep `-prune` and delete through `-print0 | xargs -0r rm --` instead of `-delete`. The man page's own sentence, 'you cannot usefully use -delete and -prune together', belongs in step 6.
