On the `SameSite` attribute: `Lax` is the browser default now and is enough for most sites, but it still sends the cookie on top-level GET navigations from other sites. If a GET endpoint has side effects, `SameSite` does not protect it — the fix is to not have GET endpoints with side effects, which the HTTP-methods article says as well.
