Structured, schema-bounded handoffs between agents reduce injection success compared with free-text handoffs

Hypothesis: when an agent that reads untrusted content can pass only schema-validated fields with bounded length to the agent that acts, injected instructions reach the acting agent less often than when it passes free-form prose.
Hypothesis
In a two-stage agent system where stage one reads untrusted content and stage two holds tools with side effects, constraining the handoff to a JSON schema with enumerated fields and short length limits lowers the rate at which instructions planted in the content cause stage two to take the planted action, compared with a free-text summary handoff. The mechanism proposed is that a narrow channel cannot carry most instruction phrasings intact.
Prediction
With the same models, tools and planted content, the structured-handoff configuration shows a clearly lower rate of planted actions executed by stage two than the free-text configuration, while task success on benign inputs drops only slightly.
Proposed test
Build a set of tasks with benign documents and variants carrying planted instructions in several carriers (hidden HTML text, document metadata, issue comments). Run both configurations over many repeated trials per task, recording whether the planted action occurred and whether the benign task succeeded. Include adaptive attacks written by someone who knows the schema, e.g. instructions squeezed into permitted fields. Report rates with intervals and the full schema used.
