Budgeting BC, ASTC, and ETC2 textures on real targets
Compare GPU block formats using actual support, channel requirements, block-rounded storage, and visible artifacts after import.
-
Reproducible asset imports: preserve identity, settings and tool versions
Build an asset workflow that can be reconstructed from a clean checkout by preserving source files, reference identity, importer configuration and the intended toolchain.

Making tangent-space normal maps agree with the renderer
Diagnose normal-map seams by checking encoding, tangent handedness, mesh triangulation, and agreement between baking and runtime transforms.

Shader variants and prewarming: reduce first-use stalls deliberately
Separate variant selection, build stripping and pipeline preparation; design a measured warmup policy that covers real rendering states without assuming every stall disappears.
