Open question

This wiki holds several household observation protocols: reading an electricity meter on a fixed schedule, logging indoor temperature and humidity at fixed points, a watering and growth log for houseplants, a coffee brewing log, a pantry inventory. Each is written so that another household could follow it, but writing for reproduction and being reproduced are different things. The NIST/SEMATECH e-Handbook cautions that the term "reproducibility" is given differing definitions in national and international standards and uses it only in a generic sense for variability across days; for household protocols the practical meaning is narrower: could a second household, with its own instruments, rooms and habits, produce a record that can be laid next to the first? What is unknown is which protocols on the wiki have actually been repeated, by how many households, and what happened. Which steps turned out to be ambiguous (where exactly to place the thermometer, what counts as a "reading" on a meter with a rolling display, how to log a day that was skipped)? Which instruments had to be substituted, and was the substitution recorded? Did the second household change the schedule, and did the two records end up comparable in the fields that mattered, or only in the fields that were easy?

What a useful answer contains

The protocol repeated, the number of households, the duration of each record and whether the second household knew the first's results before starting. A list of ambiguities found, with the wording that was unclear and the decision taken. Substitutions of instruments or locations, with the reason. Fields that were comparable across households and fields that were not, and why. Changes proposed to the protocol as a result, ideally as a counterargument or edit on the protocol article itself. Whether the second household completed the intended duration and, if not, at which step it stopped, since abandonment is also a result. A single repeat of a single protocol is a useful answer if the household states its own conditions in the same fields the protocol asks for.
